Thoughts on the Journey, Process and Life

So it begins

August 17, 2018

I'm about 11 weeks away from launching my new life as a working artist! I move back to Louisville at the end of October, after 10 years in DC working at the American Psychological Association. I enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to my profession at the national level and feel I had an impact in many ways, but I am so ready to move on.

I've been painting off and on for about 30 years and much more steadily in the past few years.  After primarily focusing on still life and landscapes in oil, I recently began working abstractly in acrylics and cold wax medium with oils.  With the incredible support and guidance of my mentor - DC-based abstract artist John Blee - I feel I've reached a new level of development.  John is an incredible colorist and has work in the collections of MOMA in New York and the LA County Museum of  Art.

I'm excited to be back in town just in the nick of time for the LVA Annual Open Studio Weekend.  I'm not sure yet how well-furnished my studio will be by then, but I'll be able to at least show some work.  I hope to see many of my Louisville friends and meet many new ones.

Hoping you'll be wildly successful and I can say I knew her when! Good luck.

What a perfect transition. Your creativity was meant to be shared, whether in business or on canvas. Congratulations and best wishes for this next phase of your inspiring evolving self!
